1st Annual Community Day

On Labor Day – Monday, September 5, 2011 – we held our 1st Annual Community Day.

The day started at 11:00am with volunteers from among our residents pitching-in to help clean up our community. Thanks to our volunteers, we picked up bags full of trash, weeds, fallen tree branches, and more. At about 1:30pm, we fired-up the grill and began cooking the hot dogs and hamburgers, and our residents supplied the side-dishes and dessert. Of course, the pool was open to all – at least until the lightning came at about 8:30pm.

Unfortunately, the day also started off raining. We had a number of soaking wet volunteers¬† helping to pick-up the place – a big thanks to you folks for braving the rain! If it weren’t for the rain, we had other activities planned including more pool games, music and a family movie.¬† We did, however, have face-painting as the pictures (above) attest. Despite the weather I think a good time was had by all.

We’re planning on repeating Community Day again next year.

Thanks to all who came out!
