Thanks Chief!

On behalf of the Quakers Green Community Association membership, the Board of Directors and myself, I’d like to extend our sincere appreciation to Richland Township P.D. Chief Richard Ficco for coming out to meet with us this evening, to discuss our Town Watch program.

I’m sure the chief gave everyone something to think about, and we look forward to working with him and his fine department to make our community a safer place. More »

Newsletter Issue #1 is Out!

This evening we delivered our first newsletter in nearly 25 years to your house!

We’re proud to bring you this first issue, and we hope you will enjoy it. We want this newsletter to become an important means of communication.

Of course, we can always use some help – if you have some time, please let us know. Please leave us your comments, we’d love to know what you think of our newsletter.

New Look for the Community Center

For those who haven’t visited the Community Center recently – it has a new look!

After nearly 35 years, the Community Center has received its first facelift. Gone is the dated, dark and dreary paneling; gone is the stale cigarette smell! And as a result, we’ve already seen a significant increase in center rentals and are hoping for more.

Thanks to Lee McGuigan’s design sense and the excellent renovation work by Russ & Chuck Shermer and some volunteers you won’t believe you’re in the same old room:

1st Annual Community Day

On Labor Day – Monday, September 5, 2011 – we held our 1st Annual Community Day.

The day started at 11:00am with volunteers from among our residents pitching-in to help clean up our community. Thanks to our volunteers, we picked up bags full of trash, weeds, fallen tree branches, and more. At about 1:30pm, we fired-up the grill and began cooking the hot dogs and hamburgers, and our residents supplied the side-dishes and dessert. Of course, the pool was open to all – at least until the lightning came at about 8:30pm.
